  63.  ║    Your first look at a screen using sample data (The SoftPro Group).    ║

  65.  ║    Examine the line identifiers.             These are called FIELDS     ║

  67.  ║    These names cover most of what many businessess want to know about a  ║
  68.  ║    client.  They may be perfect for your use.  If not, later you will    ║
  69.  ║    be shown how to change the names so that they match your enterprise.  ║

  79.  ║    Your first screen uses The SoftPro Group as a typical client          ║
  80.  ║    complete with a Client History sample file.  Look at the filled       ║
  81.  ║    spaces.  If you needed to recall previous conversations or business   ║
  82.  ║    activity, you would Press <H>                                         ║
  83.  ║                                                                          ║
  84.  ║    If this were a new addition and you wanted to make an entry you would ║
  85.  ║    get a new screen.                                                     ║
  86.  ║                                                                          ║
  87.  ║    You would insert all the related data including special offers,       ║
  88.  ║    quotations, promises, etc.  Press <enter> to save the record, or F2.  ║
  89.  ║                                                                          ║
  90.  ║    Note:  There are three ways that you can fill in the 1st contact date.║
  91.  ║           One is to Press <Alt>, <L>  Adjust the calendar to the day     ║
  92.  ║           you want to install.  Press <enter>                            ║
  93.  ║           The second is to Press <spacebar> that action places the       ║
  94.  ║           computer date at the field.                                    ║
  95.  ║           The third is from the keyboard manually.                       ║

  142.  ║    WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH THE CLIENT Db                                    ║
  143.  ║                                                                          ║
  144.  ║    The Client Db (a DBMS system) is the place to install client/         ║
  145.  ║    customer/prospect records.  Menu field names are alterable to         ║
  146.  ║    match special interests.                                              ║
  147.  ║                                                                          ║
  148.  ║    Once you install data in the master menu, you also have the option    ║
  149.  ║    of adding  more information in the Customer Activity Record           ║
  150.  ║    (referred to as History) by  pressing one key <H> at the client menu  ║
  151.  ║    You can  address a letter from a Template module, even time and       ║
  152.  ║    date stamp your contacts.                                             ║
  153.  ║                                                                          ║
  154.  ║    You will be able to change the record, add to the record, print the   ║
  155.  ║    record,  export the record, look for certain conditions, search       ║
  156.  ║    by query (place  cursor at one or more fields, enter criteria, press  ║
  157.  ║    one key), that client pops up.                                        ║
  158.  ║                                                                          ║
  159.  ║    If you have a large record base you will be able to categorize them   ║
  160.  ║    in more  than one directory.  But if you want one master database,    ║
  161.  ║    you will be able to combine all directory records with a JOIN         ║
  162.  ║    utillity.                                                             ║

  164.  ║    For safety, you will be able to Back up all data files from within    ║
  165.  ║    the  program.  For security you can use a Password and Encrypt any    ║
  166.  ║    file name or data record.                                             ║

  168.  ║    Plan and set Next Contact Dates, then review the schedules in the     ║
  169.  ║    Follow Through module by 'Browsing' the months summary.   You can     ║
  170.  ║    link a Next Contact Day with a specific Time Slot appointment.        ║

  172.  ║    Export calculations from the calculator to a field in the record.     ║
  173.  ║    Create and use Macro keys (20) to speed data input.  Move about       ║
  174.  ║    faster from field to field.  Fill in City, State with one key.        ║

  176.  ║    You will be able to insert critical memorandums in the History file   ║
  177.  ║    then extract part of the record for reports or hard copy for paper    ║
  178.  ║    trail files.  Import formatted records or files, include them in a    ║
  179.  ║    report with just a few keystrokes.                                    ║

  181.  ║    You will be able to select and Mailmerge Client records into          ║
  182.  ║    thank you letters, quotations, all business correspondence, to a      ║
  183.  ║    select clientle,  print addresses  on envelopes or labels without     ║
  184.  ║    retyping.   Use and imbed menu variables in letters, quotations.      ║

  186.  ║    For Telemarketing you can prepare Scripts, use with a Client record.  ║
  187.  ║    Dial phone numbers if the system is modem equipped.  A 'Timer' track  ║
  188.  ║    the duration of all calls for auditing telephone bills or it can be   ║
  189.  ║    used as a duration timer for professional charges.                    ║

  201.  ║    These two databases have been prepared for you to use with your       ║
  202.  ║    sales activity.                                                       ║

  206.  ║    This Db works with a Client Db which you can pull up quite easily     ║
  207.  ║    and quickly using a Macro setup. Here's how:                          ║

  210.  ║    At your Client Db, Press <F7>, select a function key like Alt F1      ║
  211.  ║                       Press <Alt> <F1>                                   ║

  215.  ║                       Press <enter> make sure that 'USE' is showing      ║

  225.  ║    This procedure assumes you have a record in CUSTSALES                 ║

  228.  ║    The .DSC Db can be any kind of a record you create.  You could        ║
  229.  ║    have one named LASTCALL meaning when was the last phone call made     ║
  230.  ║    to this Client.  Using the macro procedure puts you into the          ║
  231.  ║    Database module fast. From there using Search you can pull up         ║
  232.  ║    any database you care to use with your primary record.                ║
  233.  ║                                                                          ║
  234.  ║    Install the data as it occurs.  The calculator can be used for        ║
  235.  ║    totals, then exported to the field with F8.                           ║
  236.  ║                                                                          ║
  237.  ║    You can use the Search mode and CUT/PASTE Client fast.                ║

  240.  ║    This handy Db in concert with TODAY (below), will provide             ║

  284.  ║     used point to point and how much time you spent with an account.     ║
